The Conference Board Taps bWell CEO Phil Micali as Principal Researcher of its Wellness Working Group & Leader of Upcoming Employee Benefits Conference

NEW YORK, NY/CHICAGO, Ill – June 15, 2006 – The Conference Board (TCB), the global research and business membership organization which is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, has named Phil Micali, founder and CEO of bWell, International as principal researcher of its Wellness Working Group to develop guidelines for corporate wellness initiatives. Micali will also be coordinating presentations at the upcoming TCB Employee Benefits Conference, “Ideas to Help You Provide the Best Care to Engage and Retain Your Employees and Build a Culture of Health and Wellness,” June 29 – June 30, 2006, Westin Chicago River North, Chicago, IL.

“The Conference Board chose Micali based upon his extensive understanding of benefits programs and his experience in working with senior executives responsible for corporate health benefits,” said Gregg Mauro, Program Director, Health and Benefits, at The Conference Board. “He will be responsible for developing guideline for wellness initiatives within companies looking to improve employee health.”

Under Micali's leadership, the Wellness Working Group will be studying initiatives already in place and will produce an authoritative report which is scheduled for distribution in September 2007.

At the upcoming Employee Benefits Conference, Micali will tie together the presentations so that attendees receive a cohesive, positive picture of current wellness programs. The meeting attracts benefits, health and HR executives who share their experiences, expertise and thoughts on topics ranging from on-site health clinics to vendor management.

Phil Micali has over 22 years’ experience designing, developing and operating innovative health and wellness companies, including HMOs and specialty managed care programs, both in the US and in Europe. Prior to his innovative work in developing, selling and implementing HSA models of reimbursement, Micali spent over 10 years in behavioral healthcare with the nation’s leading managed mental health companies directing network development, account management and government programs. Micali focuses upon consumer involvement and the services, tools and messages needed to convert healthcare users into healthcare consumers.
